Rainy Day Indoor Activities for 6-10 Year Olds

Whether it’s raining or freezing cold outside, children’s joy cannot be curtailed due to seasonal changes. As parents, we often remember the gloomy days we spent, staring at the conditions outside, thus losing some joyful moments of our childhood. We certainly want to give our children the best of everything, and not rob them off their deserving happiness. Hunting good indoor activities for kids between the age group of 6-10 year olds are great fun to know and explore.
A raining day can potentially hamper your kid’s physical activity if you don’t plan things in advance. When your children go outside to play they are able to spend some quality time away from the regular distractions. They are also able to work their body, thus promoting good health. Not to undermine the fact the joyful moments they are able to derive due to these physical activities. A rainy day can certainly curb or eliminate all the physical activities to a great extent. However, there are several indoor activities that you can incorporate in your child’s life so that they make the most of the rainy season.
Playing with the pet
If you have often been complaining that your child does not spend adequate time with your pet, then this is a great time for your kid to spend some quality time with your pet. Pet is a great source of entertainment and can serve as a very good companion. Not only will your kids have a great time, but your pet will also enjoy the companionship.
Spend time in the kitchen
Rainy season is perhaps the ideal time to lead your kids to the kitchen. Allow them to do some minor cooking such as mixing ingredients. Most kids love watching and lending a helping hand if you prepare their favorite food.
Train them with their hobbies
Since the kids are small, they will have little or no knowledge about their hobbies. Introduce them to lots of new things like stamp collection, picture collection and so on. This will not only keep them entertained, but you will also get an idea about the things your child is very good at.
Life size drawings
With leftover wallpaper and sheets of paper one can create life-size drawing of family members and friends. Ask them to lie down on the paper sheet so that an outline can be prepared. Good sketches will give them a sense of accomplishment when they display it to their friends.
Board and card games
Board and card games have always been an object of fascination for kids. Although games like monopoly, snakes and ladders are pretty much old fashioned, they are still able to provide players with a healthy dose of fun and entertainment. These games can be easily purchased online as well as offline at a very reasonable price. It’s a good idea to invite all their friends to your house so that they can participate and contribute to the fun environment.
